One of two men accused in the beating death of a teenage boxer in Phoenix has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.
Robert Chavez, 23, was sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty to second-degree murder last month.
Chavez and Joseph Jesse Corrales, 24, were arrested in the September 2013 beating death of 17-year-old Alexis Urbina-Ochoa, who was found unconscious and covered in blood in his family's South Phoenix home. He died two days later.
"It really doesn't change the fact that my brother's gone and he won't be coming back, but it's a good feeling to know that he's behind bars and he won't be hurting other people and it's a step closer to getting over this," said Urbina-Ochoa's sister, Sulem Urbina.
